Catnaps - the sleep of the just?

A few minutes ago I couldn't resist capturing the look on Ginger's face of 'innocent sleep' (the little devil!) - and then quickly went round the others, all here and all within two minutes. The prevailing light and sleeping poses of Blackso, Noodles and Patchy didn't quite win over those of Ginger's portrait, but they're all within the same brief period of time.

If only my own sleep was as undisturbed as this fearless foursome seem to be enjoying.

    1. You were a bit quick off the mark, A.M., though I'm certainly not complaining. I mistakenly published this first photo before I'd loaded the next three pics.

The pussies are actually all male but Ginger is the only one of them that's fully 'intact' - and conspicuously so. Wish he'd also been 'done' but, unlike the others, I never got to know from where he came. For that reason, in the hope that he might be claimed, I was reluctant to get him doctored - though the cost of it is also something I really can't afford. Maybe he was just abandoned. He now seems to have moved in, much to my dismay. I just couldn't bear to lock him out and see him crying and pawing at the window.

    3. I try my best, A.M., though any effort I put into it I'm happy with because it gives me so much satisfaction - almost as much as they get themselves.

  2. Now those are some very contented cats Ray! It's quite clear that they know they have found the best possible home with you!
You're right, Ginger's pose is wonderful!

    1. I keep telling them that they are ever so lucky to have found me, Paul, but I get the feeling that they just take me for granted - there to be used!
Yes, sleeping cats are especially fascinating and attractive, largely because one knows that they are not getting up to any of the mischiefs they are tempted with.

    2. Sorry, Craig. I've just noticed. I recall knowing it was you but my fingers insisted on typing Paul's name Thanks very much for coming here.

  3. After our last discussion about sleeping Blackso, it was enjoyable to see Blackso doing one of the things he does best. However, the big surprise here was Ginger. Clearly, at least for this week, Ginger is the 'star.'

    1. Ginger is a really lovely cat, Paul. He's the youngest of the four, I reckon now about 2 years old. He's very loveable, will jump into my lap at any opportunity, just like Blackso - something the other two will never do - and Ginger also has the loudest voice (Blackso's and Patchy's are virtually non-existent). I wonder if his vocal wailing (very loud in conflict situations with other cats) is due in any way to his being un-doctored. I've never heard him use it in mating-call situations - though heaven knows what else he gets up to when he's outside. But he also worries me a lot, because of his not being neutered, the fact that he's not registered with any vet - and, when I go away for a few days (which next could be in July) I'd have to ask the volatile chap downstairs to feed him in the garden, at least that's what I did last year. Not sure what alternative there is this time. Even putting him kennels with B. and N. needs a prior health certificate, let alone the additional cost. It's a problem. But I do love him.

  4. Oh, to be able to sleep in any position, anywhere, like a cat. Your pictures made me fall in love. Such little angels.

  5. Yes, Mitch - and they always fall asleep so quickly, even if there's a noise from TV, radio or the outside. At the moment Blackso's taken to sleeping with me under the duvet, (he changes his night-sleep location from time to time) draping himself over my arm for my body heat, I suppose - and I've got to try to fall asleep whilst holding the duvet up from his head. He's also the loudest snorer out of the four - right in my ear - and it's a screechy sort of snore. Honestly, no consideration! As for their being 'little angels' - don't you believe it!
