Stoppit.........PLEASE!!!!

I've just about had enough! Why, oh WHY are the British TV networks, (including the BBC, of all bodies!) so darned obsessed with the projected reunion of group 'Oasis' to undertake a world tour, now 15 years after their break-up following the estrangement, now apparently reconciled, of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher? It's even been second news item on some channels for three days! Is it that flaming important to the world, I ask you? Who cares, and I can't honestly think that there are that many who do, certainly not enough to merit such a high place of 'importance' on our news programmes? I definitely don't! Strewth! STOP IT. Just STOP IT NOW!!!

(Now, if the Beatles had re-united around, say 1984, - okay, since writing this I realise that by then Lennon wasn't with us - now that would have been something to really make a song and dance about).

  1. It must be huge over there because it made the news here!

    1. Well, blow me down! Now that really DOES astonish me! Just what is the world coming to when such trivialities are so magnified beyond their worth! Weep, children, weep!

  2. I completely agree with you. Nothing to admire about the Gallagher brothers, either one. Someone is doing an incredible job hyping this.

    1. Although I've felt that Noel was the more talented of the brothers, if only for his composition 'skills' which is merely better than 'some'. But there's nothing in the group that calls for such adulation, unparalleled as far as I can see. Yes, someone or something has been pushing this beyond reason.

  3. My 27-year-old son is a fan of their music, not them personally. He is very excited about the tour, as are many of his friends. So funny what goes around musically. I did read a funny note that Noel deciding it was time to reconcile may have something to do w/his very expensive divorce.

    1. Noel G's motive is, like so many others', entirely based on what is best for HIMself. Reminds me of someone else (among many others) in particular.
And, several days later, the opening of booking for their concerts was, this morning, again second item on Sky's 'World' news! I give up!

  4. It's months and months away. I am not betting a dollar it actually happens.

    1. I agree. When I first heard about their reunion (yawn!) my reaction was "What chance that the two of them fall out again even before their first appearance takes place?" - and my guess would be "VERY high".
And they're STILL making the news daily - the latest being of so many scammers buying tickets and selling them on at grossly inflated prices, some well more than 100 times their value. Well, well! - what a surprise!

  5. I have never heard of Oasis until now. It sounds quite a fuss, but what do I know. :-)

  6. My comment didn't go through; I will try again. I haven't heard of Oasis until all the fuss happened. I had to look it up. At least I learned something. People get awfully strange about their music.

    1. Now over a weeks later, it's STILL a major news item on all our channels, at least what now is, is the scamming of tickets bought and re-sold at grossly inflated prices. I'll be so relieved when their finally tour gets started, if it ever does - and even moreso when it's over. You having missed all the Oasis fuss when they first came on the scene, now getting on for 30 years ago, was some mercy for you, you lucky thing!
