New frustrations, A.M. Fiddling around requires such delicacy of touch that I keep overshooting. I do miss my mouse and am thinking about getting a remote one.
Thanks, Mitch, but it's rather slow at the moment - not my typing but it's how with the slightest feather touch strange things happen, like the entire page disappears! But it's a matter of getting accustomed, I suppose.
Congratulations Ray! Get that wireless mouse though. I can't stand the track pad. Very annoying. Now you can see all the videos that I posted on my blog! (smile) So happy for you Ray. Ron
Thanks to you too, Ron. No excuses about not being able to view blogs now, and thank heavens for that! I reckon I'll be on this computer so much that I'm wondering how I'll have time for anything else.
And to answer your question below, it's a 'Lenovo ideapad 100', if that means anything. The chap at the 'Laptop Shop' (which I only discovered last weekend by googling this town + 'laptop') was very helpful indeed and not at all condescending about my poor computer knowledge. This is the one he suggested (about half the price of the cheapest 'Apple' I could find) and so far I have no complaints at all - well, except for the ultra-sensitive keyboard. But I do think that remote mouse will overcome a lot of that.
Ray, I think you made a good choice. I have heard good things about Lenova computers. As long as your computer isn't a Microsoft Windows based system which is a drag. Good luck with your "new" life. You'll enjoy checking out the blogs now. Plus all the "goodies" on the Internet. Ron
I continue to be well satisfied, Ron, and am especially grateful to that small laptop shop I happened to find by chance by googling, with very helpful service. I wasn't aware it was there. It's not at all far from me by foot but in a direction I never go.
Still having problems finding my way around, though - such as "Where' my 'favourites' list? It's got to be here somewhere. At moment have to find everything through Google which is getting a bit tedious. But overall still looking very good.
Accepted with gratitude, Dr Spo. I only wish I could get my list of 'favourites' to work as before. It's getting very tedious to have to go though Google every time I want to go to a different site.
Late congrats! I've had a Lenovo for years. While it's no longer my primary device since I made the change to Apple, it's a go to workhorse that never quits as my back up or when I just flat out need a PC.
No regrets in the least so far, F.B. Each day I seem to be learning something new about how to operate it and it's coming out a dream. A little way to go yet but only suddenly coming into some money would make me want to put this aside and purchase an Apple, though I have indeed heard marvellous things about the latter.
Congratulations on your new "Baby"!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic news, Ray. You certainly deserve it after all you've been through with your old computer.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Walt. After many months, nay YEARS, of computer-induced headaches, life should now be a lot richer and certainly less frustrating.
DeleteCongratulations! Enjoy it! Write a LOT with it!

What is the brand of your laptop Ray?
ReplyDeleteI too want to join the conga-line of congratulations on your new laptop.
