My troublesome but truly treasured twosome (again)

All pics taken this very April morn. Blackso now starting to show his 13 years which, in human equivalent age, is probably not far short of my own 65. Noodles will be about 10. They both still control my life absolutely - 'cos I spoil 'em something terrible.

    Loving their faces!

  2. Thanks, Bob. It's good that I can give you visual delights of my own little sweeties when your own blog does the same for me, but rather more often. I'll tell them that you're an admirer.

    1. Thanks to you too, S/b - but please don't let Harvey see them, for safety's sake of your own computer.

    1. Anne Marie - thanks so much for popping by to see my flatmates. (Is there an American equivalent of that word? 'Apartment-mates' doesn't sound right - as will the word 'flatmates' to you, I suppose. Sounds like a friend who's been squashed by a steam-roller?)
My furry pals are pleased to send their regards to you and yours. Thank you.

Springtime here? Hardly! After a freakish few days' foretaste of Summer a couple of weeks ago, when many were sunbathing on the beach, we're back into Winter - cold winds, lots of rain - ugh! And furthermore, despite all the current wetness, because it's been so dry for the last few years with river and reservoir levels alarmingly low, we've now officially got drought conditions, with a hosepipe ban for the rest of this year at least. So you can stop singing that Blake/Parry 'ditty' now - though it's always nice to hear you!

flatmates is fine by me; remember, I do have british ancestry on my father's side.

I regret to inform you that steven, my black kitty, crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday morning. he had been ill with cancer. we do intend to adopt another soon from the same shelter.

we are also in drought mode; my spring pollen allergies NEED RAIN.

    3. Oh, Anne Marie, I'm so very sorry to hear about Stephen - and only yesterday too. I know I'm going to be devastated when the time is up for mine.
I'm at the age when, if that comes as it surely will soonish, I'll be really concerned about whether any other pussy I adopted adopt in its place were to survive ME - and what would happen to it when it's my turn to go. It really would be one of my really top concerns - and, in fact, already is.

As I write this it's pouring down outside (as it did yesterday). But we are going to need several weeks, or even months, of continuous deluge to replenish our water levels.
As someone who also suffers from pollen-induced hay fever (which started suddenly only when I was in my 30s), oddly this is the first year when I've been only slightly inconvenienced. Can't be sure why, but COULD be something to do with starting diabetes medication. Will have to ask my doctor if that can happen as a positive side-effect - and if it can, it could be the silver lining to that particular cloud.
All of which doesn't help YOU - but I do know what it feels like, so I wish you a Spring & Summer significantly less uncomfortable than previous years.

  5. Always a delight to see how Blackso and Noodles are doing. And, they don't dissapoint - looking cute and adorable.

Btw, You get an 'A' for Alliteration.

  6. Thanks, Paul. They are my most cherished 'possessions'. Wish I was theirs. Although Blackso is the more affectionate one, they both tend to take me for granted. Just there to feed them!

You're very generous with your mark for my title, but I think it would have been possible to have done better. Couldn't think of a 'two' word beginning with 'tR'. I suppose could have dragged my regular visitor, Ginger' in and made them a 'trio'.

  7. What a couple of sweethearts. Makes me really miss our two old cats, but even more excited to get two new ones soon. Dogs have owners; cats have staff.

    1. Thank you for that, Mitch. It's true to say that my life entirely revolves around them. They largely confine me here when there are often times when I wish I could be away for a few more hours than I dare. When I do have to go away for away for a few days (recently, only about once a year) my heart breaks to have to put them in a cattery. I bet I fret more than they do themselves! AND I spend more on cat food than on food for myself - by about 40%.

  8. I used to have a black cat, Tiberius. I am very fond of black cats. Your 2 cats and their photos gave me a nice smile today.

    1. If my blog has given you cause to smile, Dr Spo, then I'm only returning the favour.

It's said that all all-black cats look the same. But it's only superficially true. I bet if your late Tiberius and my Blackso were put side by side anyone would notice their differences straight away. In any case their personalities would likely be totally dissimilar.

  10. Ray,
I love the kittys. You can never post enough pictures of them. I wish Bill liked cats so we could have a couple of them keeping us company. Yours are beauties and I can tell they love their home.

    1. I know how much you love cats, Ron, and how much you would love to have had some. Speaking for myself, if I had a partner who disliked like cats so much that he wouldn't allow me to have any, I'd have to say "Goods riddance" to him!
