Not much to say about this one.
I saw the original when it was first released, but was not particularly taken by it. Think I gave MiB II a miss, though may be wrong. If I did see it it certainly didn't register. And I can't be bothered to check, which says it all!
Only went to this as was looking for a distraction from current financial woes. (Cunning, eh? Worried about lack of money - so squander even more of it away on fripperies!)
Entertainment value for me - fairly low , but, to be honest, touching on 'moderate' now and again - though it was never sustained for more than a few moments. Quite liked Josh Brolin's dour portrayal of a younger Tommy Lee Jones character, though Will Smith's ever wise-cracking persona soon gets wearing. (Oh, and what's with all these cut-glass English accents?)
Overall, it passed the time, before having to come back to reality with a bump.
My personal rating - 3.5/10

Sorry that this one didn't help you out more. At least, as you say, "it passed the time." Never had any thoughts of seeing it and with your review, I'm certain I'm missing nothing.
ReplyDeleteWould have been surprising if this were to end up in my Top 20 of the year. But it was the only very slightly attractive film playing at the moment in these environs - apart from 'Prometheus' which is 'pencilled in' for next week - though I was waiting to see if there was a cheaper 2D option showing, which there will be, but it's on too late for me to go. Anyway, that's the next one on the list - as well as the Tom Cruise musical 'Rock of Ages'.
DeleteIt's very rare that I see a movie before you do, but that I did with "Prometheus." Since Michael Fassbinder is the star, it was clear that the 3D version was the only way to go. Happy that you too, are going that route.
DeleteI'm not going to spoil it for you and give my impressions except to say that the movie raises a great many questions and needs a second viewing.
Probably going today, Paul (if my dentist finishes on time) or tomorrow - so my 'review' is coming up shortly.
DeleteI have to admit I enjoyed the first. The second had some moments, but not as many. I didn't really have an interest in seeing the third, and since there are already so many other good films I haven't yet seen, I guess this will stay at the bottom of the list.
ReplyDeleteYou won't be missing anything, Mitch. I'd advise saving the money (like I did NOT do) and waiting till it comes on the telly.
DeleteThe first two were bad enough. I won't torture myself with the third.
ReplyDeleteI think you'd better see it, Cubby. You MAY be surprised as only a couple of days ago I see that another of my blog-pals has awarded it a 7/10. (Though beats me why!)
