I have a feeling you'd enjoy THAT more than the film.Moving with Mitchellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12954028272162285597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926347286766677626.post-26948681068596042932016-09-29T22:20:40.065-07:002016-09-29T22:20:40.065-07:00It's gloriously filmed, Judith, so it has that...It's gloriously filmed, Judith, so it has that going for it at the very least. It was only with the 'Rings' films that many of us became fully aware of the truly breath-taking landscapes which NZ possesses - so 'near' to OZ yet so incredibly different.
I think this film has been well-received just about everywhere, even ecstatically, though it defeats me as to why. I'll be most interested to know what you think when you catch up with it, as you must. I think I must be the only person in New Zealand who hasn't seen this movie, I just haven't felt the need. No doubt I will be stripped of my Kiwi citizenship if anyone finds out.Judithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13974206679853189199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926347286766677626.post-32027763114963543422016-09-29T07:32:53.824-07:002016-09-29T07:32:53.824-07:00As did most others who saw it. As for the other two features of this film mentioned, you and I are totally at one. Although my opinion is very much in a minority, I can't do other than say "AVOID!"Raybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12424095016313843883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926347286766677626.post-4608027884072455792016-09-27T19:11:53.441-07:002016-09-27T19:11:53.441-07:00Oh my Ray, So much to dislike about this film and ...Oh my Ray, So much to dislike about this film and I haven't even seen it yet. First Sam Neil, he of the Very Expressive Eyebrows, which seems to be his main acting talent and why he is cast in films. I've always been distracted by those arched eyebrows. Second, a wise assed kid spouting language way beyond his years is a major turnoff for me. When I hear those words emanating from their pie holes I think of a bunch of long haired, scraggily writers sitting around a table writing those words. Turnoff! And the killing of animals in films for "entertainment?" Not something I find necessary to view in a movie.
Thanks for the warning.
RonRonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11161930319264523497noreply@blogger.com
