They are all mentioning her as one of the film's strongest points. My only criticism of her is the old familiar one of mumbling, leaving me exasperated at several places where I really wanted to hear what she was saying, but was left to guess waht it was. It can't be a coinicidence that she exhibited exactly the same trait in my favourite film of last year, 'Ex Machina' where her poor (lazy?) diction was just about the only negative feature I felt in the entirety of that film. They are not quite as common as they once used to be, and perhaps they happen more in this country than USA. <br />'Behind the Candelabra' is an example of where it couldn't get a theatrical release in America, I believe, but the big multiplex chains took it up here.Raybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12424095016313843883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926347286766677626.post-72152319032234986042016-01-25T09:19:40.718-08:002016-01-25T09:19:40.718-08:00You rise a good point and how true. For one thing, it is wide screen, but in any case I always feel that seeing a film, any film, for the first time on a TV screen is so much of a diluted experience. However, perhaps as the talk about it increases as the awards season is practically now upon is, if it's not too late it may persuade you to see it in the medium for which it was intended.<br />And your visit here is MUCH appreciated!Raybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12424095016313843883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926347286766677626.post-31639183186176999732016-01-24T06:07:10.731-08:002016-01-24T06:07:10.731-08:00Hello Raybread, I have happened upon from Anne Mar...Hello Raybread, I have happened upon from Anne Marie's spot of the world and saw your item her sidebar, and it caught my eye. Over here the multiplexes have taken it up - though, of course, it has the advantage on these shores of being a British film. I do hope you get to see it at some cinema as it's a wide screen production, though it needn't necessarily have been. But it's a subject that has never, as far as I'm aware, been addressed as a central issue, rather than being merely mentioned in passing, and even those have been near to existent.
