Can anyone help, please?

(This blog-post been superceded by success as reported in my subsequent posting).

Most other bloggers have managed this so why can't I?
I want my 'blog archive list' to the right of my postings to show the title of each blog entry - at least for the current month. For weeks I've been trying to achieve this by searching on google how to do it, but whenever I try the result is always :-

Anyone who can assist will be in receipt of my undying gratitude in the form of an enormous bundle of positive vibes!  Thanks - to whomever!

  1. Hmmm, this post's title is showing up on your archive. Maybe you figured it out? I tried to post a screen shot of my settings, but it won't let me. If you want to see it, I can post it on my blog.

    1. Yes, Sadie. The title of the most recent post appears on my archive list, but other bloggers, including your own I see, show ALL of that month's titles - and that's what I can't do. I'm still flummoxed!

  2. I think if you go to "Layout" you'll see how your blog is, well, laid out.

On the right, scroll down until you see the box marked 'My Blog List' and then click in that box.

You should get a pop-up screen that gives you options of just blog titles, latest post, even a picture from the latest post.

You should be able to change it there; at least that's how I do it on mine.

    1. Doesn't work, Bob. It's what I've been playing around with for days. There is a 'Post Titles' box to tick, which has been done, but when I save it it only shows the title of the current post not past ones. GRRRRRRRR!!!

  3. I think maybe (I hope) you're just looking in the wrong place. When you're on Layout, you need to select "edit" under BLOG ARCHIVE. That window starts with Title, then Style (I have Hierarchy selected), and then Options. Check the box "Show Post Titles."

    1. It's precisely what I'm doing, Mitch. Infuriating! (Thanks anyway).

  4. Ray, I'm not sure if the Blogger "setup" is exactly the same in your country as it is here in the U.S. - - AND I'm not very good at explaining things, but I'll give it a try.

On the left-hand side of the main Blogger page is a list of things, such as "posts", "settings","layout". Go to "Layout".

When the Layout page opens, you'll find a "diagram" of your blog page. On the top of your sidebar diagram, there's an option that says "Add a Gadget".

Press "Add a Gadget" and a little window will pop up with a list of gadgets you can add to your blog. Select "Blog Archive"
When the "Blog Archive" window pops up, there's an option that says "Show Post Titles" Just check that box - - and the post title will show up (for one month, I think).

I hope this isn't too confusing!

    1. Thanks Jon, but I've been trying that route as well - and I've just had another go at it, but no change. I'll keep fiddling around with it.
